Taurus Full Moon - October 2026
The Moon will be Full at 2°45' of Taurus at 9:11 pm PST on Sunday, October 25th. The Great Goddess, Venus, deep in her labyrinthine underworld journey, is ruling this exalted lunation. The Moon in Taurus is the honored guest in the green, earthy temple of the Goddess. Taurus is the place where the Moon’s greatest strengths are worshipped. The Moon in Taurus brings luxuries to nourishment, and the comfort of indulgence as self-care. This sign's fixed quality keeps the Moon stable in her fullest expression. I feel a Taurus Moon so strongly in this Parks & Rec clip of Donna and Tom celebrating “Treat Yo Self” day. The last New Moon in Taurus was in mid-May. What seeds did you plant in that sector of your life? They are now blossoming and ready to bear fruit.
But the Goddess has other, more important things at hand. She has just re-entered Libra on her retrograde journey that began in the watery, emotional depths of Scorpio. When she waded into those swampy Scorpionic waters, she reached a point she couldn’t move past. The messenger God, Mercury, had raced to her side with intel. What she heard forced her to turn back, reconsider relationships, and pick up the pieces she left behind. An injustice occurred in her air temple, a place where injustice is forbidden. She’s retracing her steps, going back and collecting evidence along the way.
The light of this Full Moon is illuminating the deep feelings of Scorpio by reflecting the Sun’s light there. Even as the Goddess tries to stay in her rational mind, to think her way through this, the Moon pulls focus back to the deeper, embodied, felt-sense of the transgression. And Mercury, that trickster messenger, has also reached an impasse in Scorpio. He made it further into the depths of the murky swamp, but he is now also moving in reverse. He is retreating towards the Goddess, to join her in her underworld journey. He has more to share with her from the territory he was able to reach before her. He has stories and evidence to present.
The Moon and the Sun, in their opposition on the chart, appear as two points connected by a straight line. They’re opposing forces drawn taut like the string of a bow. Creating an exact square to both luminaries, and plucking that string with a deadly arrow is the Lord of the Underworld, Pluto, in Aquarius. He has just stationed direct after his own retrograde journey, and that stationing phase adds weight to his ominous presence. The dynamic tension of Pluto is making this lunation feel particularly pointed. This Moon reminds us that the shadows do hold secrets and sometimes the secrets are the keys to liberation.
So what to do in this moment? Know that helping the cause can sometimes look like treating yo self. Look to the full Moon in her exalted glory. Give yo self the freedom to indulge in extravagant acts of self-love and care. Feed your body with good, delicious things, scent yourself with flowers, recite poetry, and feel as deeply into your feelings as you can possibly go. Roll in them like a bull in a flowery meadow. Offer your delicious body up to the Goddess of Love to help her on her righteous journey.
