Aries Full Moon 2026

Aries Full Moon 2026

In just a couple of hours, at 4:48 pm on Saturday, September 26th, the Moon at 3* of Aries will be exactly opposite the Sun in Libra. This full Moon is contending with strong energy in its separating conjunction from Neptune at 2* and moving swiftly towards a bodily conjunction with retrograde Saturn at 11*, along with an exact sextile from Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto is also trining the Sun exactly. Both Luminaries are being juiced by the deep, powerful, shadowy underworld energy of Pluto.

My experience of time this year feels like the Goddess pressed the fast-forward button. I can’t quite believe we’ve tipped past the Fall Equinox and are already solidly descending into darkness. Despite their relatively slow pace, the powerful outer planets are currently all in fire or air signs, and the energy they are activating, all in aspect with each other, is moving FAST. With the Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter joining the conflagration in the air and fire of Libra and Leo, the felt sense can be overwhelming. Something, something, the world’s on fire? And with the personal planets, Venus and Mars, in detriment and fall in water signs, the emotional response to this overwhelm might not be helping.

There are no inner or outer planets (not even Chiron!) in earth signs right now, so it’s up to you and your earthly vessel to remain firmly planted. Remember that you aren’t merely at the whim of planetary energies; you are an active participant! Having an insight into astrology is like activating your life out of default player mode. So what can we do with this fast, fiery moon that’s stuck between a fog and a hard place (Neptune and Saturn, respectively)?

First, let us consider a very interesting embodiment of a similar sky. Thom Yorke, legendary sleepy-eyed lead singer and mastermind behind the band Radiohead, was born during a full Moon conjunct retrograde Saturn in Aries with Venus in Scorpio. Four of his seven traditional planets are in the same signs as this lunation. Luckily for Thom, he has a lovely little group of planets in Virgo that keep him grounded.

So, listen to some Radiohead and find an oracle in the lyrics.

Dancing for your pleasure

You are not to blame for
Bittersweet distractors
Dare not speak its name

Because we separate
Like ripples on a blank shore

Now, let’s also take a look back at the New Moon in Aries, which happened on April 17, 2026. This was the first lunation in Aries since the big Saturn-Neptune conjunction happened there at 0*. Mars, Mercury, Saturn, and Neptune were all within 5 degrees of each other, and the Sun and Moon came together with Chiron ALL IN ARIES!! Do you recall what was going on in your life around that date? What big idea did you initiate with urgency that maybe needed further refinement upon reflection? You were conceiving something all your own that is now having a spotlight shone on it, ready or not! Like my own Aries child who decided to arrive 6 weeks before his due date.

This Full Moon is pulling that spotlight, asking you to consider that New Moon conception 5 months ago. What about that plan or idea is ready to be birthed? What parts can be edited or pruned back? With the Moon leaving the dreamy illusions of Neptune and charging towards the stark realities of Saturn, fueled by the power of the deep, this Moon is asking you to get REAL.

The night sky is thick with phosphorescent gray fog. Your worst thoughts and fears are whirling around; your body is feeling burnt out, and your emotions are running hot and high.

The ripe, harvest Moon emerges as the fog momentarily parts. The sudden, direct light illuminates a mirror standing before you. In the clear moonlight, you try to gaze at yourself, but you can’t see your reflection through the dirt and dust on the mirror’s surface. Reflexively, you grab a handful of dirt and begin to rub it onto your face and body in an attempt to make the reflection true.

Sometimes our first response to a situation (especially a stressful one) is born from old patterns and doesn’t actually serve us. The deep shadow of the unconscious is oftentimes pulling the strings without us even noticing. It’s time to stop rubbing dirt on your face. Give yourself grace to try a different tactic. Let go of your knee-jerk reaction. Don’t be afraid to apologize. And for God’s sake, clean the damn mirror.
